Lords of the Lounge
Chaise Lounge announces that Insomnia will be its final recording: it is breaking up and re-forming as a Celtic band called “Lords of the Lounge.” Drummer Tommy Barrick will play bodrhan, saxman Gary Gregg will play tin whistle, trombonist John Jensen will play bagpipes, bassist Pete Ostle will play bouzouki, guitarist Charlie Barnett will play banjo, and vocalist Marilyn Older will switch to Irish stepdance. “I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished with Chaise Lounge and the modern songbook genre,” says Barnett, the group’s chief songwriter. “But for where I am now in my musical journey, it just wasn’t sprightly enough
